8 Tips for Being a Strong & Empowered Woman

The thing we love the most about boudoir photography is how it helps women to feel more empowered by encouraging them to feel beautiful and alluring in their own skin. We want to further help you to become a strong, empowered woman by offering you a few tips on how to be true to yourself.

1. Learn to Love Yourself

One of the reasons why women love our Houston boudoir photography sessions is that when they see their photographs, they realize that they are truly beautiful, no Photoshop necessary. They start to feel like they can really love themselves as they are. If you want to become empowered, you will need to learn to love yourself for who you are. Advocate for yourself and embrace yourself, flaws and all.

2. Spend Time Alone

Our Houston boudoir photographers believe that it’s important for every woman to spend time by herself. When you are alone, you are able to discover who you are — your likes, your dislikes and everything in between.

3. Be a Good Friend

Build up your support system by being a good friend. Take time to listen to your friends, comfort them in hard times and celebrate with them in good. Don’t just call when you need to talk; remember that they may need to work through something they don’t feel comfortable reaching out about.

4. Pursue Your Passions

Your talents and skills are uniquely yours, and you should employ them to make yourself happy and make the world a better place. Pursuing her passion led Sheryl Warwick to create Warwick Boudoir, and now it is Houston’s premier boudoir-style photography studio.

5. Learn To Say No

“No” is a complete sentence. Use it when you are uncomfortable, when you are considering overextending yourself and whenever else you need to. Do not back down from “no.” You have every right to say it and mean it.

6. Do What Feels Right

Part of being true to yourself is doing what feels right. If your gut is telling you to do one thing and not another, trust it.

7. Watch and Read Positive Things

Our pinup photographers believe that it’s important for strong women to consume positive media. We are shaped by the things that we watch and read, and it’s far better to consciously shape your life in a positive direction than to let garbage sneak in.

8. Don’t Lose Sight of Who You Are

Whether you’re in a relationship, on a job or just hanging out with your girlfriends, don’t lose sight of who you are. It can be all too easy to bend to avoid conflict, but in doing so, we begin to be less and less authentic to ourselves and our needs and desires.
